2010 Catch Limitations

Regarding catch limits for 2010, the Commission will continue to set catch limitations for the following elasmobranch fisheries:

Skates and rays (all species) in ICES areas IIa, IV; VIa,VIIa-c, e-k; VIId; VIII, IX and IIIa
Spurdog in IIIa; II, IV; I, V, VI, VII, VIII, XII XIV
Porbeagle in all areas
Deep-sea sharks in all areas (deep-sea TAC regulation: zero TAC for deep-sea sharks with a 10% by-catch compared to the 2009 TAC)

Furthermore, catches of basking sharks and white sharks are prohibited for Community vessels in all waters.

If you catch a tagged fish

Please leave the tag in the fish.

Note the telephone number or address on the tag and write down the number of the tag. If you have a suitable sling and scales then take the measurements and weigh the fish.

Please keep the fish in water as much as possible.
