You may have heard of the luck of the Irish but how about double Dutch. Well that’s exactly what happened recently for Jan Meijlink, and Kees from Amsterdam. The boys have had an annual skate trip for a number of years with Ian and “On Yer Marks” but decided to try their hand at tope fishing in Dumfries and Galloway. With the the bait down, they setteld down to wait……

As some of you may know, the tope have not been present in the numbers of previous years, but this didn’t bother the Dutch boys. Jan hooked into his first ever tope which was weighed and tagged at 73 pounds before being returned. This is now the biggest tope on the SSTP database! Not content with just one great fish, the dutch duo ended the day with two fish each with just one below forty pounds.
