The aim of this Event is to showcase the bio-diversity of the seas in the area and show just how important these are to sea anglers, which in turn benefits the local economy and public at large through the huge socio-economic benefits that sea angling brings.
Entry Donation – £5 per angler ( juniors free ), all proceeds will be split 50/50 between RNLI & SSACN Charities.
Winners will be the team that catch the most different species of sea fish on the day.
This a catch and release event – all fish caught must be photographed with a digital camera / mobile phone and have a photograph that will handed out at the registration in the background of each picture …. A score card must handed in at Ardwell 1700 where the organisers will view each of the pictures of fish to confirm the species. The organisers decision is final.
Prizes for senior and junior sections:
Small boats (max team of 4 anglers)
Kayak (team of 2 anglers)
Shore (team of 2 anglers)
plus fun prizes
All Juniors will receive a goody bag.
Registration – 0745 to 0830 at Ardwell Bay Slipway
Boat / kayak sections launch – 0830 to 0900
Fishing – 0900 to 1600 anywhere in the Mull of Galloway area but score cards must be returned by 1700 to the Ardwell Slipway registration point, with the presentation at 1715
There will be information stands at Ardwell Slip and a get together in the bar at the Sands Of Luce Holiday park in Sandhead on the Saturday night to have a beer or two and share those fishy stories.
